Colorado State boasts nine event winners in Boulder
BOULDER – The Colorado State track and field team wrapped up its performance at the Colorado Invitational Friday when the meet was moved to a full Friday schedule due to impending weather conditions scheduled for Saturday. The Rams left Boulder with nine event winners.

In the long jump, senior Taye Holker won the event with a mark of 6.50 meters. The mark ties her for eighth in the country so far this season and fifth in the NCAA West region.

Holker also won the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 11.68 seconds, marking another PR and moving up to tied for ninth in the CSU record book. Teammate Makayla Williams followed close behind in third place with a time of 12.20 seconds just before Williams won the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.36 seconds.

Tim Johnson was the winner of the men's high jump with a clearance of 2.01 meters with teammate Hari Brogan also clear 2.01 meters in more attempts to claim second.

In the horizontal jumps, the Rams won both the men's and women's triple jump. Sophomore Jo-Anna Pinnock took first in the women's triple jump with a mark of 12.92 meters, just 0.03 meters off her school record holding personal best. On the men's side, Rams claimed the top four spot with Jamison Taylor taking home gold with a PR mark of 14.32 meters. Rhys Travis, Tyler Benett and Luc Baker all followed respectively.

The Colorado State throws team had another impressive day as well as the Rams swept both the women's discus and women's hammer throw with Michaela Hawkins winning the women's discus with a mark of 59.13 meters and Mya Lesnar winning the women's hammer throw with a mark of 61.65 meters. Teammates Klaire Kovatch and Kajsa Boorman finished second and third respectively in the women's discus with Boorman and Hawkins finishing second and third in the women's hammer.

Kyle Bigley rounded out the meet for the men's throwing team with a second place finish in the men's discus throw with a mark of 52.41 meters and a third place finish in the men's shot put with a mark of 18.26 meters.

Colorado State will split up their event groups once again next week as they take on the Pacific Coach Invitational, the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Long Beach Invitational April 11 through 13 next week.
