Program and conference 60-meter hurdles record falls in Boulder.
BOULDER – Colorado State's Cole Nordman made history Saturday afternoon with a time of 7.71 in the 60-meter hurdles, breaking both the Colorado State and Mountain West records at the Colorado Classic.
Â
This is the second program record of the year for Nordman, who claimed CSU's top mark in the 55m dash at the Wyoming Power Meet in December, toppling a record that had stood since 1998. Nordman's time on Saturday passed San Jose State's Demaris Waters' previous conference record of 7.72, a mark that stood since Feb. 25, 2023.
Â
Also delivering an impressive performance was freshman Allison Pippert who won the women's 3000m with a time of 9:53.26. It was the first collegiate track and field event for Pippert, who had a promising cross country season in the fall.
Â
CSU gathered a slew of podium finishes throughout the day, including runner-up performances by Chris Henry – who ran a personal best 4:08.33 in the men's mile – and Grace Gordon in the women's 400m (57.56). Nordman continued his solid outing with a runner-up finish in the 60m-dash (6.68), finishing just ahead of fellow Ram Tyler Colwell (6.75) in third.
Â
A pair of program top-20 times were posted in the 800m races as Ethan Mann ran a 1:52.76 on the men's side while Mary Schultz clocked a 2:15.45 on the women's.
Â
Up next for Colorado State is the UCCS Invite in Colorado Springs. The one-day event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25th.
