MEET NOTESÂ
- Competing in two meets will offer the chance for many Rams to gain experience, with 83 student athletes set to compete across both competitions.Â
- The New Mexico Team Open offers a good opportunity for Colorado State to get familiar with the grounds, as it will be the site of this year's Mountain West Indoor Championships.Â
- The reigning NCAA Indoor Shot Put Champion, Mya Lesnar is set to make her season debut this weekend in Albuquerque. Lesnar is returning to the site where she threw a program-record 19.10m/62-8 to win the conference crown.Â
- The other half of CSU's two-headed monster in the women's shot put, Gabi Morris, is also set to compete in Albuquerque this weekend. Morris is well on the path to returning to the NCAA Indoor Championships as her season-best mark of 17.56/57-7.5 is currently sixth nationally.Â
- Like Lesnar, sprinter Kenny Carpenter is on track to make his season debut in the Land of Enchantment this weekend. Carpenter is a rising sophomore that played a role in CSU's 4x400 team that won the MW title at last year's indoor championships in addition to a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter.Â
- In Boulder, Tereza Babicka will continue her preparations to make a run at the conference crown in the pentathlon. Bacbicka's score of 3,743 set back in December currently sits 19th nationally and is just two points off the top mark in the conference.Â
- Men's distance stars Lars Mitchel and Michael Mooney are each set to compete in their second meet of the indoor season this weekend at the New Mexico Team open. The pair last hit the track on Dec. 7 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston and have been focused on training since then.Â
- At the CU Invitational, the Rams' Anna Petr returns to the track after setting the program record in the 3,000m at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Dec. 7. Also the record holder in the mile, Petr figures to be a big part of CSU's plans to repeat as MW indoor champs.Â
