Rams Impress On Day One

Several personal bests highlight first day of multi-meet weekend.
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State track and field saw several career-best marks posted while competing at both the Colorado Invitational (Boulder) and the New Mexico Team Open (Albuquerque) on Friday afternoon.

New Mexico Team Open
The first day of competition in Albuquerque was highlighted by Kajsa Borrman's outstanding performance in the weight throw. The Loveland native threw a career-best 20.95m/68-8.75, vaulting her into sixth all-time in CSU history. Borrman's mark ranks 22nd nationally this year, and allowed her to win the event by over two meters.

Cole Nordman continued to make his mark in the CSU record book as he ran a 21.20 in the unseeded 200m dash, which is good for sixth all-time in program history. In the women's invitational 200m, Kaylyln Heath clocked a 24.48 in her race which entered her into a tie for 12th all-time in Ram history.

In the women's 400m, Mary Schultz joined CSU's top-15 times as she ran a career-best time of 56.58 to finish third in the event. On the men's side, Travis Turner posted a program top-20 time as he ran a career-best 48.31.
