Rams Pack Defense in Road Win

CSU improves to 4-0 on the year thanks to its strong defensive effort
CHICAGO – Colorado State men's basketball hit the road for the first time this season and packed its defense with them on the way to an 80-69 victory over Loyola Chicago Sunday afternoon.
The Rams held the Ramblers to 25.0% shooting in the first half, including without a field goal in the final 7:32.
How it Happened
- The Rams offense started slow, but Kyle Jorgensen caught fire in the first half, going 5-for-5 from the field, including connecting on a trio of 3s.
- CSU's defense showed up in a big way over the final 7:32 of the first half, holding Loyola Chicago without a field goal. The Ramblers ended the half 0-for-6 from the field, all 3-point attempts, and a pair of turnovers.
- Up 12 at the break, Colorado State took control of the game early in the second half with an 11-1 run.
- It was capped off a trio of 3s from Jevin Muniz, Brandon Rechsteiner and Jase Butler.
- The lead grew to as much as 26 with Loyola Chicago closing the gap late, with the game out of reach.

- Kyle Jorgensen and Brandon Rechsteiner led the team with 15 points each. The due each had three 3-pointers.
- Jorgensen added in six rebounds and three assists.
