CSU seeking road success

TUCSON, Ariz. – A team looking for success, Colorado State's women's tennis team will hit the road this week in search of victories with a pair of matches. The Rams will take on Buffalo on Friday and Arizona on Saturday in Tucson. Both matches will start at 10 a.m. MT.

Colorado State is 1-5 in the dual season while the Bulls are 11-0. Buffalo has one 8-0 since the start of the spring season, six of which were home matches. There will be live stream of the dual.

"The tough losses have motivated us in ways wins probably wouldn't have," coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "We have faced high level competition, and we know we are capable of competing at that level.  We've had to take a hard look at areas of improvement. They are determined at training and how that can help prepare us for the next round of matches this weekend."

Going into these matches, the team is getting healthier with Diana Lizarazo able to start playing doubles matches and soon she will be able to start playing singles as well.

Having three healthy doubles teams will give the team a better chance at winning the doubles point, especially with the success they've seen from doubles partners Victoria Zhadzinskaya and Sarah Weekley.

"Our mindset is, how can we measure our success with getting better each day, and prepare for conference season," Tran said. "I am pleased to see the team has been able to stay positive and focus on the match in front of them."

The Rams and the Wildcats both head into these upcoming matches coming off losses; Arizona has a 6-4 record in the spring season.

Live scoring and live streaming will be available for the match against Arizona.
