MEET INFORMATIONÂ
Mountain West Indoor T&F ChampionshipsÂ
Date: Feb. 27th – Mar. 1st, 2025Â
Location: Albuquerque Convention Center – Albuquerque, New MexicoÂ
MEET NOTESÂ
- The Albuquerque Convention Center has been a familiar venue for Colorado State this season, making it the third event in a row in which CSU will head south for the Land of Enchantment. The convention center has been the home of the MW indoor Championship since 2015, in what has been an era largely dominated by Colorado State, winning more indoor championships than any other school in the Mountain West in that time.Â
- The Rams look to continue their dominant run in the women's shot put, now highlighted by a trio of throwers in Mya Lesnar, Gabi Morris and Makayla Long. Lesnar goes into the event as CSU's all-time leader in the shot put and as the defending champion. Morris is second place all-time for Colorado State and finished as the runner-up last season. The triad owns the top three spots in the MW heading into the championships and will look for a clean sweep of the podium. Additionally, Colorado State owns six of the top ten marks in the MW this season. Included in that six is sophomore Kajsa Borrman who also ranks as the top mark in the weight throw.Â
- The jumping events look to be a strong source of points on the men's side. Ismael Dembele sits first and second in the conference in both the triple jump and long jump, respectively. Dembele has top 10marks in both events in the indoor record book. As for the high jump, both Timothy Johnson and Rhys Travis will look to make a run at gold sitting second and third in the MW, respectively. Freshman Ndayiragije Shukurani could also be a threat to podium in the event as he sits in fifth in the conference with a mark of 2.06-meters/6-feet 9. Â
- Standout pole-vaulter Maria Kimpson has put together one of best seasons for a vaulter in school history. Kimpson holds the top mark in school history and has beat her record once already this indoor season. Kimpson has the best vault in the MW by over eight inches and will look for gold on Friday. Â
- Cole Nordman, who has had a legendary season already, comes into the championships with the best mark in the conference in both the 60 hurdles and 60 dash. Nordman is Colorado State's record holder in the 60 hurdles and is fourth in the 60, both marks from this season.Â
- The Colorado State record holder in both the Mile and 3000, Anna Petr, will need to play a big part in this women's quest for four in a row. Petr has the second best 3000 time in the MW and is sixth in the mile. Petr will look to establish herself in a loaded field in search of important points for her team.Â
