Team to face Minnesota, Missouri in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The team is ready to show its improvement from its first matches.

Colorado State's women's tennis team is headed to Minnesota for a pair of matches against Minnesota and Missouri on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The matchup against Minnesota takes place Saturday (10 a.m. MT), while the Missouri dual follows Sunday(8:30 a.m. MT.)  The match against the Golden Gophers will be live streamed; there will also be live stats for both matches.

"Our first two matches gave us valuable insight into where we compare to other teams.  I've learned where our level stands and where we want to be," coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "It's still very early in the season, and our focus remains on getting better every single day."

Minnesota is 3-2 on the season, coming off victories against Air Force and Iowa State. Missouri is 3-0 to begin the season.

The Rams split their first two matchups of the spring season with Mariya Dobreva being the only one to win both of her singles matches. Victoria Erechtchenko and Sarah Weekley were the only doubles team to post a victory.

The team will learn from those contests and continue to improve as it goes into these next matches.

"Our upcoming matches will be great tests for us, and the team is eager to hit the road and compete," Tran said. "Our mindset remains the same - we are a hardworking, hungry and talented team, and we're looking forward to the preparation and battle ahead this weekend."
