Trio of Multi Athletes Get Started in California

Babicka, Collins and Scott complete first half of two-day event.

FORT COLLINS – While the rest of Colorado State track and field gears up for the Mines Kit Mayer, a trifecta of multi-athletes made their mark in Azusa, Calif. The trio have proved to be a crucial group for the Rams, with all three scoring points at the 2025 Mountain West Indoor championships.

  • Elijah Scott had a strong start to his decathlon campaign, headlined by a first-place finish in the shot put in his respective heat. Scott followed that with a third-place finish in the high jump. In the final event of the night Scott landed a personal best in the 400 with a 52.53. The senior heads into Friday in fifth place with a score of 3788, just 372 points off first.   
  • Like Scott, Cameron Collins also shined in the shot-put, finishing third in his heat and recording a personal best 13.02-meters/42-feet-8.75. Collins also recorded a personal best in the 400 with a time of 52.88. The redshirt junior finds himself ninth in his heat entering Friday with a score of 3477, just 325 back of first place.  
  • Tereza Babicka, the lone woman competing in California, ended the day with 2919 points and in 13th place. Babicka finds herself 623 points behind the lead.
