FORT COLLINS – The busy slate continues for Colorado State track and field. After last week in which three different sites hosted the Rams, CSU now readies up for a two-location weekend. The Bryan Clay Multis will host just those athletes competing in the decathlon and heptathlon, while the rest of the athletes competing head south to Golden for the Mines Kit Mayer.Â

MEET NOTESÂ
- The reigning Mountain West Men's Field Athlete of the Week, Ismael Dembele, will be competing on Saturday at the Mines Kit Mayer. Last week Dembele jumped an outstanding 15.60-meters/51-feet-2.25 in the triple jump. While not eligible for the Colorado State record book, it is under the qualifying threshold for nationals, where he now ranks 17th. Dembele's second attempt was eligible for the record book, moving him up to fourth all time. Â
- All-around thrower Klaire Kovatch will compete on both days in Golden. The Montana native throws in every event for the Rams, bringing in points and strong finishes consistently. At last year's MW Outdoor Championship, Kovatch scored points by finishing within the top eight in the shot put, hammer throw and discus, while just barely falling outside of the top eight in the javelin.Â
- Men's throwers will be in full force on Friday and Saturday, including nationwide standouts Kyle Bigley, Cameron Kalaf and Adam Hellbom. Bigley ranks top 100 in shot put nationally and fourth in the MW, while Kalaf makes the top 100 in javelin and is second in the MW. Both Kalaf and Hellbom sit top 100 in the hammer throw, with the freshman Hellbom right outside the top 50. Hellbom and Kalaf sit third and fourth in the MW, respectively.Â
- Cierra Gonzalez returns to the Mines Kit Mayer to defend her title in the long jump from a year ago. Gonzalez's 5.58/18-3.75 awarded her with her first gold medal as a member of the Green and Gold. During the indoor campaign Gonzalez broke into the top 20 long jumpers in program history with a mark of 5.80. Â
- The men's high jump is once again proving to be one of the strongest source of points for Colorado State, currently led by freshman Ndayiragije Shukurani. Skukrani's 2.08/6-9.75 ranks 65th in the nation, and sitting just behind him are teammates Jamison Taylor, Rhys Travis and reigning indoor champion Timothy Johnson. CSU holds three of the top five marks in the MW and six of the top ten, with each athlete getting the chance to build on their mark this weekend. Shukurani, Taylor, Travis and Johnson will be joined with Hari Brogan at the Mines Kit Mayer, while multis athlete Elijah Scott heads to the Bryan Clay Multis. Â
