CSU goes 1-2-3 in women's discus in Las Vegas

FORT COLLINS – Colorado State track and field wrapped up a busy weekend of competition with some impressive results across their three meets.

UNLV Rebel Invite (Las Vegas, Nev.)
Colorado State was dominant in the women's discus, sweeping the podium at the Rebel Invite. Kajsa Borrman was the top performer among the trio of Rams, throwing 53-13-meters/174-feet-3 to take the top spot. Joining her on the podium were teammates Klaire Kovatch (52.50/172-3) and Makayla Long (49.60/162-8).

The men's triple jump provided another dominant showing by the Rams as Ismael Dembele and Jamison Taylor went 1-2. Dembele's winning jump was a wind-assisted 15.92/52-2.75, but the Arora native did improve upon his personal on his second attempt which was a 15.38/50-5.5 that came under the wind-adjustment threshold. Finishing just behind Dembele was Taylor, who jumped a wind-assisted 15.40-50-6.25 on his final attempt to finish .30 meters ahead of the rest of the field.

Four athletes represented the Rams in the top 10 of the men's high jump, led by Timothy Johnson and Rhys Travis who each jumped 2.00/6-6.75. Not far behind were Ndayiragije Shukurani and Elijah Scott, who each registered a 1.95/6-4.75 to tie for seventh. On the women's side of the event, Tatum Bailey and Annastasia Murphy each jumped 1.65/5-5 to finish inside the top 10 as well.

The men's 4x100 cohort continues to impress after last week's showing at the Jack Christiansen Invitational. For the second-straight week the Ram men went sub-40 seconds, clocking a 39.87 this time out as they inch towards the program record of 39.56.

Neya Jamison had a solid showing in both of Saturday's women's hurdling events. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native ran a personal-best 13.90 in the 100 hurdles – good for a top-10 time in program history – and went on to win the 400 hurdles later in the day with a 58.81 that was just shy of a PR.

Other notable results included Cole Nordman's runner-up finish in the men's 110 hurdles (14.10, PR), Dominic Gallelli's third-place finish in the men's 400 hurdles (53.70) and Kaylyn Heath cracking the program's top 20 with a 11.93 in the women's 100.

Stanford Invite/Mike Fanelli Track Classic (California)
It was a light day in California as a pair of Rams competed in the 800. Freshman Jaycee Williams clocked a PR 2:12.32 on the women's side – just outside the program's top-15 – while Reuben Holness ran a 1:51.89 which narrowly missed his career mark.

The Rams will hit the track again next week as they compete at the Bryan Clay Multis (April 10-11) in Azusa, Calif., as well as the Kit Mayer Classic (April 12) in Golden.
