Stinchcomb continues to play strong for Rams

FORT COLLINS – The Colorado State women's golf team finished 8th overall at the Liz Murphey Collegiate, hosted by Georgia in Athens, Georgia, Wednesday afternoon playing +53 as a team with Katie Stinchcomb leading the Rams with a 16th-place individual finish.

  • Leading the way for the Rams was Stinchcomb who notched her second top-20 finish of the season playing +10 overall. She totaled four birdies including three in round three, her best round of the tournament playing even.
  • Finishing 36th for the Rams was sophomore Kara Kaneshiro. The regular ace for Colorado State got off to an unfamiliar start to the tournament in round one before recovering nicely through the two-day play. She played her best round in round three shooting +1 and finishing +14 overall with seven birdies.
  • Lacey Uchida and Jacinda Lee tied at +18 overall for Colorado State, each finishing 46th individually. Uchida has a great day one, playing +3 in both opening round and totaling three birdies while Lee's best round was her third round finishing +4 with five birdies overall on the tournament.
  • Rounding things out for the Rams was freshman Ebba Thalen who finished 53rd overall playing +21 with three birdies on the week.
 
Up Next: The Rams will prepare for post-season golf this weekend before departing Fort Collins again for the Mountain West Championship tournament April 15-17 in Rancho Mirage, California. The championship tournament will be hosted at Mission Hills Country Club.
