Colorado State Sweeps MW Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Awards

Fout, Willson and Carlson awarded conference honors from week two
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State women's soccer swept the Mountain West weekly awards, announced Monday by the conference. Senior forward Olivia Fout was named Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore goalkeeper Gray Willson earned Defensive Player of the Week and freshman defender Piper Carlson collected Defensive honors following CSU's unbeaten weekend in Florida.
Offensive Player of the Week: Olivia Fout
Fout led the Rams with two goals and one assist across the road trip. She scored and assisted in the 3-0 win at Stetson, including the pass on Michaela McGowan's goal that moved her into second place all-time at CSU in career assists. She then delivered the game-winning goal at South Florida in the 85th minute of a 1-0 victory. Fout finished the week with five points (2 goals, 1 assist) and contributed on three of CSU's four goals in Florida. She is the only player in program history to score in three consecutive matches and she has now done it twice. She also scored in the first three games of the 2023 season.
Defensive Player of the Week: Gray Willson
Willson backstopped the Rams to consecutive shutouts, playing all 180 minutes on the trip. She made three saves at Stetson before adding four more at South Florida, finishing the week with seven total saves on seven shots faced.
Freshman Player of the Week: Piper Carlson
Carlson anchored CSU's back line with two strong performances, logging 164 total minutes. The freshman scored her first collegiate goal in the 3-0 win at Stetson and helped the Rams record back-to-back clean sheets. She also added two shots, one on target, while starting both matches.
CSU, now 3-0, returns home to host UTSA on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. at Ram Field in Fort Collins.
