Rams Close Non-Conference Slate with Draw at Omaha

Casey’s late goal helps CSU earn road result before Mountain West play
OMAHA, Neb. — Colorado State soccer (6-1-1) finished non-conference play with a 1-all draw at Omaha (4-3-2) on Friday night. The Rams created chances throughout and broke through in the 89th minute when Mia Casey scored the equalizer to secure the road result.
CSU outshot the Mavericks 14-10 and earned a 7-3 edge in corners. Goalkeeper Gray Willson made three saves, including a diving stop in the 72nd minute to push a shot away from the top corner.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Omaha opened the scoring in the 19th minute, capitalizing on a corner kick that led to Jasmyn Brown's goal on the Mavericks' first shot of the match. The Rams pushed back after halftime, with Olivia Fout and Kacie Laurie both testing the Omaha keeper. Willson kept CSU within striking distance with multiple second-half saves. The breakthrough finally came in the 89th minute, when Casey finished low into the center of the net to tie the match.
