MEET NOTES
  • Colorado State boasts the top hurdle squad in the MW heading into the championships. The men sport six of the top 10 in the 110 hurdles and four of the top 10 in the 400 hurdles. The group, led by indoor gold medalist Owen Langdon, will look to provide huge points in the Rams' championship push. The women's side is led by indoor champion Neya Jamison who enters second in the 100 hurdles and first in the 400 hurdles.
  • Kajsa Borrman, Klaire Kovatch and Makayla Long headline Colorado State's throws group entering the MW Outdoor Championships, giving the Rams one of the conference's deepest and most dangerous field units. Borrman specializes in the hammer throw, ranking first the MW and sixth in the nation with a throw of 69.02/229-5, establishing herself as one of the top hammer throwers in the country. Long anchors CSU in the shot put, where she leads the MW, and ranks ninth in the nation with a mark of 17.54-meters/57-feet-6.5. She also adds strong secondary production in the discus and hammer to give her multi-event scoring value. Kovatch leads CSU in the discus, ranking first in the conference and eighth in the nation with a mark of 59.55/195-4, while also providing additional scoring depth in the hammer and shot put.
  • Taylor Waters and Maria Kimpson lead Colorado State's pole vault group as the Rams prepare for conference, providing key scoring potential on both the men's and women's sides. Waters has been a consistent standout in his freshman season, clearing 5.22/17-1.5 at the Doug Max Invitational to claim the school record. The Colorado native finished second at the MW Indoor Championships when he set the school record as well. On the women's side, Kimpson brings veteran experience to Colorado State's lineup, posting a season best of 3.96/12-11.75 at the Doug Max Invitational, positioning her as a valuable scorer in the field. The senior vaulter took gold at last year's MW Outdoor Championships and is the school record holder in the event.
  • Mateo Munoz will start in his first full decathlon since the 2023 MW Outdoor Championships. Munoz has missed the past two outdoor campaigns due to injury but enters with momentum after a silver medal performance at the indoor championships. Munoz excels in events across the board with the discus and the 110 hurdles looking to be big scoring chances for the multi athlete.
  • Kenny Carpenter and Ashton Whisler forefront Colorado State's 400 meter as two of the MW's top sprinters this season. Carpenter leads the way after a career best performance at the Doug Max Invitational, clocking 45.71 to establish himself as the top contender in the conference and a major scoring threat in the event. Carpenter already holds CSU's indoor school record in the 400m and now enters championship season within reach of the outdoor record as well. Whisler adds key depth for CSU, running 46.64 at the same meet to rank sixth in the league, further strengthening the Rams' presence in the 400.
  • Ndayiragije Shukurani and Ismael Dembele highlights Colorado State's jumps group heading into conference. Shukurani has emerged as one of the conference's most versatile athletes, leading the MW in the high jump after clearing 2.15/7-0.5 at the Border Dual, and leading in the triple jump with a mark of 16.13/52-11 which he recorded at the Doug Max Invitational. The sophomore currently holds CSU's outdoor program record in the triple jump, and enters the championship ranked second all-time in the high jump. Dembele adds even more strength to the triple jump group, ranking second in conference with a mark of 15.79/51-9.75 from the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird Invitational. Dembele currently sits second in Colorado State program history in the triple jump behind Shukurani, giving CSU the top two jumpers the program has seen competing side-by-side heading into championship weekend.
  • Colorado State features a strong javelin group with multiple Rams positioned among the conference's top throwers. Jack Olsen leads the way as CSU's top mark in the event paired with freshman standout Austin Shaffer, both of whom sit among the conference's best performers on the men's side. The group gives the Rams a steady scoring presence in the javelin as they look to add crucial points to their championship push.
