Shana Easley
Shana Easley
Shana Easley will begin her first season with Colorado State in 2021-22. The assistant coach was hired by Head Coach Jen Fisher August 12, 2021. Easley contributes heavily in many different areas from offensive and defensive instruction with catchers and position players to recruiting and analytics.

“I am thrilled to welcome Shana Easley to our coaching staff, as well as to the Colorado State University Community,” said Fisher. “We feel extremely fortunate to have secured such a well-qualified, veteran coach that is respected around the country and who brings a great deal of innovation and strategic ideas from her time playing and coaching at high levels. Coach Easley will fit nicely into this department and the established positive culture of this program and I am excited for our student-athletes to learn and grow from her.”

Prior to Colorado State, Easley spent the 2019 season at her alma mater, Arkansas as a volunteer assistant. In her role with the Razorbacks, she handled camps and clinics, organized community and youth outreach programs, on-campus recruiting and alumni engagement, in addition to coaching.

“I want to extend a sincere thank you to Coach Fisher and the search committee in this process,” said Easley. “I am honored and thrilled to join the staff at Colorado State and become a new member of the Ramily. Being a native of Northern Colorado, it is a great opportunity to assist in leading this program right in my own backyard. CSU has so much to offer and I am excited to get on the field with the student-athletes and start working together toward our next championship.”

Easley is no stranger to Colorado, having spent six seasons at the helm of Northern Colorado from 2013-18. While in Greeley, she led the Bears to the 2018 Big Sky Championship title game after posting a 28-28 record and to the 2018 NISC Tournament. She was also named the 2014 Big Sky Coach of the Year after leading the Bears to their first ever DI postseason appearance. At UNC she totaled 14 All-Big Sky honors and her 110 wins still holds as the most wins in program history.

In the classroom, she guided her teams to more than 60 Big Sky All-Academic Team accolades, while Lauren Paige became the program’s first Academic All-American in 2018.

Prior to joining Northern Colorado, Easley spent four years as an assistant coach at UMKC. With Easley on staff, the ‘Roos posted a 38-16 record in 2011 – the most wins in program history and claiming the Summit League regular-season championship. During her time with Kansas City, Easley coached 11 All-Summit League performers including the league Player and Pitcher of the Year in 2011.

Behind a standout career as Arkansas’ starting catcher, Easley still ranks among the program’s career top five in fielding percentage, chances, putouts and runners caught stealing. In her senior year, Easley led the team in home runs and total bases. In the classroom, she was a four-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

The Loveland, Colo., native graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and spent the 2007 and 2008 seasons on Arkansas’ staff as graduate assistant and director of operations, while earning her masters in sport management. The program earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2008.

Easley played two seasons of professional softball, beginning that phase of her softball career with the Arizona Heat of the National Pro Fastpitch league in 2006. She continued her playing days with Reggio Emilia in Italy the following season.
