English Named NFCA Second-Team All-District

Sophomore earns first All-District accolade of career

FORT COLLINS — The Colorado State softball team boasts second baseman Kaylynn English on the NFCA All-District Team, the organization announced Thursday. English was named to the second-team after being named to the All-Mountain West Second-Team earlier this season.

English finished the season playing 14 games against top 75 RPI teams, a weighted category in the nomination and voting process. In those 14 games, she hit at a .324 average with 11 hits including two doubles. She also scored seven runs and brought in one RBI. Defensively, English was perfect at second base with 21 assists, 24 putouts and zero errors.

Overall on the season, English finished second among Rams in batting average at .350 while slugging .475 with four doubles, four triples and a home run. She batted in 16 runs and scored 28 herself. In more than 150 chances, she only committed two errors on the season boasting and overall fielding percentage of .987.

This is English's first All-District accolade keeping the streak active after two Rams were named to the list last season.
