Fisher on Schmidt: "We are thrilled about the commitment of Olivia Schmidt. Olivia is a fierce competitor, with a tremendous love of softball and of pitching. What most attracted us to Schmidt is her extremely high pitching IQ and her eagerness to constantly evolve her game. Olivia will also bring a strong academic background and high degree of intensity in her studies as well. Fans are going to enjoy watching this crafty righty-pitcher add depth and dimension to our pitching staff. We can't wait to get started working with Olivia and are so proud that she has chosen to join our Ram Family."
Schmidt on CSU: "I chose Colorado State because of three main reasons: Fort Collins has a welcoming, small-town feel with the amenities and attractions of a larger city, Coach Fisher supports athletes who desire to study rigorous majors such as engineering, and the coaching staff pushes their players to think in order to grow as athletes,” Schmidt said.
