Strickland, Roberts Earn All-Region Honors

Colorado State sophomore Jessica Strickland and senior Stephanie Roberts each earned West All-Region honors for their accomplishments during the course of the 2005 season, marking the third straight season in which a Ram has been named to the All-Region team. Strickland and Roberts led the Rams to a 30-22 mark on the season.

Strickland was named to the first team as a designated player and recorded a team-leading .380 batting average, five home runs, 36 RBI and a record-tying 19 doubles, while leading the team with an ERA of 2.04. She became the first player in school history to lead the team in batting average and ERA. Strickland earns her second selection after being named to the second team in 2004.

Roberts was named to the second team at second base with a fielding percentage of .990. Roberts also led the team with 36 runs scored and ranked second behind Strickland with a .336 batting average. Roberts? selection was her third All-Region selection. She was also named to the first team as a sophomore in 2003 and the second team in 2004 as a junior.

Roberts and Strickland will await word on the selection of the All-American team on May 30 or 31.
