Three Rams Earn All-Conference Honors

Three members of the Colorado State University softball team were named today to the All-Mountain West Conference team. Senior Tara Harbert, junior Jessica Strickland and sophomore Lauren Cusick were selected by conference coaches as part of the 20-player team. Strickland is a three-time All-Conference pick, while Cusick earned her second-straight selection.
Harbert, a senior transfer from the University of Hawai'i, earns her first nod from the MWC. She leads the team with a .429 batting average in conference play which ranks seventh in the Mountain West. She also ranks first on the team and in the conference in runs (24), steals (7), at bats (77) and plate appearances (82) in conference play. Overall, Harbert started all 50 games for the Rams at second base and has led off in each game this season.
Strickland earned the nod as a designated player, leading the team in overall batting average (.416), while hitting at a .382 clip in conference play. Strickland ranks near the top of the MWC in a number of categories in conference games. She ranks second in doubles (6), total bases (46), plate appearances (81) and at bats (76), and also ranks third in hits (29). This season, she leads the Rams with 12 home runs, second on the all-time single-season charts.
Cusick has started all 50 games for the Rams at third base. She ranks first in the conference in doubles (7), second in plate appearance (81) and is third in at bats (72), sixth in hits (27) and eighth in total bases (40). For the season, Cusick leads the Rams with 11 multiple-RBI games and ranks second with nine home runs overall.
Colorado State has now had 23 All-Conference honorees since joining the Mountain West Conference in 2000, 17 of those coming in the last four seasons.
