Junior Jessica Strickland has been selected to the Easton-Bell Sports All-American first team, her second All-American nod in as many weeks. Strickland, who was selected to the NFCA All-American second team, becomes the first player in the program's history to earn two All-American awards in the same season.

Strickland led the team in nearly every offensive category including overall batting average (.415), while hitting at a .382 clip in conference play. Strickland ranks near the top of the MWC in a number of categories and also appears on the national charts in multiple places. Her .415 batting average and 0.98 runs per game rank 28th and 20th, respectively and her 0.35 doubles per game is 14th in the nation.

Strickland is seventh All-American selected in softball at Colorado State University, and the fourth in as many seasons under head coach Mary Yori. She joins players like Sarah Fredstrom (first team, 1997), Jennifer Buford (second team, 1997), Nikki Johnson (second team, 1997) who were selected by the NFCA and Ricki Walker (third team, 2003), Kerry Farrell (first team, 2004) and Stephanie Roberts (third team, 2005) who earned the nod from Easton.

Strickland was also one of four players from the Mountain West Conference to be selected to the first team. Ianeta Le'i (BYU) and Erin Floros (San Diego State) and Jacki Wong (Utah) were also selected to the first team.
