Final Stats

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Colorado State senior Lauren Cusick and freshman Caitlan Stem helped guide the Rams past the UNLV Rebels Sunday, finishing a combined 7-for-8 with five RBI and six runs scored. The win gives the Rams a 26-21 overall record, a 6-10 MWC record, and the season sweep of the Rebels.

Cusick and Stem each scored a run in the top of the first inning thanks to a passed ball from UNLV pitcher Traci Odegard and the bat of sophomore Rebecca Penland, who singled to center field to plate Stem.

Penland finished the game 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run. She recorded her second RBI in the top of the seventh, with a single through the right side to score Stem from third.

Sophomore Robyn Mask recorded the only home run for the Rams in the game with a two-run shot to center field to give Colorado State a 7-3 lead.

The Rams held a 9-6 advantage after six innings and added to that in the top of the seventh to give them a 13-6 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh.

The Rebels made the game interesting in the bottom half, scoring five runs on two outs, but senior Cayte Billman relieved junior Kim Klabough and recorded the final out for the Rams.

Colorado State returns to Fort Collins Thursday for a doubleheader against BYU with the first pitch slated for 1:30 p.m. MT. The Rams will conclude conference play against Utah on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game is set for 3 p.m. MT and Saturday's start time is set for 12 p.m. MT and will be Senior Day for seniors Cusick, Billman, and Julia Kloppe.
