BOISE, Idaho - - The Colorado State women's tennis team finished its three-match weekend Sunday, leaving Boise with a 1-2 record. The Rams faced the Kansas State Wildcats Sunday morning but had trouble pulling off a win, sustaining a 5-2 loss.

"It was hard, tough match," said Head Coach Jon Messick. "We had many opportunities to win matches but we just didn't execute. We missed the boat today, which was frustrating and disappointing."

In singles, junior Laura Neal defeated Mariya Slupska at the No. 2 position, 6-4, 6-0. Sophomore Caitlin Fluegge went to a third set against Petra Chuda at the No. 4 position but fell, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles, all three matches were extremely close, giving the Rams many opportunities to win. Unfortunately the Wildcats took over, sweeping the doubles competition.

"We know what to do in order to win but we just didn't execute it well," said Messick.

The Rams return to the court Saturday in Lincoln, Neb., where they will take on Eastern Michigan as well as Nebraska during the weekend.
