FORT COLLINS, Colo.- The Colorado State tennis program has added assistant coach Mallory Voelker, Head Coach Jon Messick announced Friday.

Voelker comes to CSU after graduating from the University of Denver in May 2009, with four collegiate tennis seasons at the Division I level for Denver and Purdue University.

"This is a great opportunity for our program to have an assistant coach with Mallory's experience at the highest level of college tennis," Messick said.

Voelker ended her collegiate tennis career in May at DU with 31 singles wins and 21 doubles wins which gave her 107 career singles victories and 79 career doubles victories.

Voelker transferred in 2007 to DU, where she earned all-Sun Belt Conference singles and doubles honors with a record of 31-9 in singles and a record 22-12 in doubles in her first season.

Voelker reached the 2008 NCAA national championships in singles and doubles competition and earned Sun Belt Conference tournament MVP. She ended her junior year nationally ranked at No. 65.

As a sophomore at Purdue, Voelker received all-Big Ten honors with a 15-8 singles record and a doubles record of 14-9. She began the season ranked No. 20 in doubles with her partner Brooke Beier. The pair remained ranked during every week of competition.

Voelker earned Purdue's second highest victory mark for a season in singles competition with 31 wins competing at No. 3 and No. 4 positions in her freshman season.

Voelker graduated with a degree in sociology and a minor in psychology from DU. Her goal is to one day coach tennis at the Division I level.

"We expect her to have a significant impact on improving the level of play among our team," Messick added.
