CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Colorado State softball team dropped a pair of games against Boston University Tuesday during the Rams’ spring break trip to Florida.
In Game 1, the Terriers overcame a 7-3 CSU lead through three innings, tying the game with four runs in the fourth inning and adding four more in the top of the seventh to escape with the 11-7 victory.
CSU freshman catcher Emily Pohl homered again for the Rams, her team-leading ninth of the season. Pohl finished 3-for-3 from the plate with two RBI and one run scored. Lyssa Roberts also posted a strong performance at the plate for the Rams, going 2-fo-4 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored.
The Rams then suffered a 9-0 setback in the second game of the day against the Terriers. Freshman Morghan Doughty (1-for-2) and senior Caitlan Stem (2-for-2) combined for CSU’s three hits in the contest.
The Rams return to action Thursday, taking on Texas Tech, before resuming tournament play at the The Game tournament hosted by South Florida on Friday.
