MADISON, Wis. - Colorado State closed its weekend road trip to the Midwest on Sunday, falling to the Wisconsin Badgers, 7-0, at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. CSU split its first road trip of the spring, garnering a victory over Milwaukee on Saturday.

"We appreciate the tremendous support all weekend," head coach Jarod Camerota said. "It's great to see how much fan support we have all across the country. We didn't get the result we wanted today, but we learned and grew from this weekend."

While the Rams were unable to get the Badgers off their game, they had a few chances to nab victories. CSU won the first doubles match, and in singles play, two players went to three sets while two others extended one of their sets.

The Rams' No. 3 tandem of freshmen Riley Reeves and Sandra Keta were dominant in their doubles win, defeating Wisconsin, 6-1. However, the Badgers were able to come from behind, winning at No. 1, 6-3, and No. 2, 6-1.

In singles, senior Celine Voss (No. 4) battled to three sets, with each one highly contested. She took an early lead with a 7-6 (7-1) first-set victory, before Wisconsin's Christina Zordani was able to knot the match with a 7-6 (8-6) win. In that set, Voss held match point, but was unable to close out the victory. Zordani then used her momentum to come from behind and win Set 3, 10-5.

At the No. 3 position, Reeves also forced three sets, winning the second frame, 6-3, after dropping the first one, 6-4. She was narrowly defeated in the third frame, 10-8.

After each winning on Saturday, sophomore Emily Kolbow (No. 1) and freshmen Keta (No. 6) and Solene Crawley (No. 7) were defeated Sunday. Both Kolbow and Keta had their first sets go to extended play. Freshman Alyssa Grijalva (No. 2) lost in straight sets, despite playing both close.

After playing three matches in eight days, CSU will next be in action Feb. 10, playing Incarnate Word from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
