FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State women's soccer team finishes off its 2018 season this Friday with a Broder War match on the road against the Wyoming Cowgirls.

Colorado State (6-8-4, 3-5-2 MW) and Wyoming (11-3-4, 6-2-2 MW) are set to square off at 3 p.m. MT on Friday from the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex. The Cowgirls currently rank as the No. 2 team in the Mountain West standings, and feature the league's No. 2 scoring offense in conference play (1.9/game). Among the key players for Wyoming is Madison Barrick, who is fourth in the conference in goals and six in points in league play.

Rams Reach New Highs in the Wins Column

Colorado State's victory over Nevada on Sunday, Oct. 21 clinched the team's highest wins total in conference play since the program's establishment in 2013. The Rams had not won more than two matches in league play prior to the 2018 season.
With its victory over Air Force on Friday, Oct. 5, Colorado State reached five wins for the 2018 season, the most the Rams have had in a single season in the program's six-year history. CSU currently has six wins overall, two more than its previous best over the past five seasons.
With its win over SMU on Sunday, Sept. 16, Colorado State secured its best start (3-3-2) through nonconference play in its now-six-season history. The Rams' best start over their previous five seasons came in 2015, when the Rams went 3-5-1 (.389).
In addition, Colorado State opened its season with a 1-0-2 record to reach a pair of program firsts. The Rams had never previously been undefeated in their first three matches of a season, and had not previously gone undefeated over a three-match stretch in The Colorado Cup. The Rams' opponents were Colorado, Denver (Summit League preseason favorite) and Northern Colorado (projected second in Big Sky).

Record Watch

Junior midfielder Caeley Lordemann leads the team with five goals in 2018, which also ties for the most in a single season in program history. Hannah Gerdin's five goals scored in 2015 remains tied for the CSU record.
Lordemann's 10 points this season is second on CSU's all-time single-season list behind only Hannah Gerdin's 12 points in 2015.
Lordemann's eight career goals at CSU, a program record, also mean that she has 16 points in her time with the Rams. That ranks as the second-most on CSU's all-time career list, trailing only Hannah Gerdin (19 points).

Rams Clinch Most Single-Season Overall Wins and Conference Wins

The Colorado State women's soccer program took steps forward in the wins column in 2018. Three wins in and out of conference play combined to give the Rams their most consistently successful play, and as a result, their best record since the program was established in 2018.
Prior to 2018, Colorado State had not won more than four matches in a single season. The Rams enter this weekend with six overall victories.
CSU will also emerge with more victories in conference play than it has over the previous five seasons. The Rams had not won more than twice in conference play prior to this season, but have three Mountain West victories heading into their final weekend of the season.
In terms of win percentage, the Rams' overall and conference records are also program bests.

Rams Tally Best Single-Season Nonconference Record in Program History

With its 1-0 win over SMU on Sept. 16, Colorado State completed its nonconference schedule with a 3-3-2 record. Now in their sixth season since their establishment in 2013, the Rams have never previously finished nonconference play with a better record.
Prior to this season, Colorado State's best start over their previous five seasons came in 2015, when the Rams went 3-5-1 (.389).

Rams Complete First Undefeated Three-Match Colorado Cup

The Colorado State women's soccer team has played in The Colorado Cup since the program's origins in 2013, and this season, completed its first-ever undefeated three-match tour though tournament play.
Colorado State drew with Denver and Colorado, earning respective 1-1 and 0-0 results on the road. Denver is the Summit League's preseason favorite, while Colorado is an early national top-25 contender.
CSU finished off The Colorado Cup with a 2-1 win over Northern Colorado from CSU Soccer Field. Caeley Lordemann and Ally Murphy-Pauletto each scored to finish off the Bears, which are projected to finish second in the Big Sky in 2018.

Rams Hold Their Own in Difficult Nonconference Schedule

In preparation for the upcoming 2018 Mountain West slate of matches, Colorado State has navigated a challenging nonconference slate of matches.
Of the foes the Rams faced before Mountain West play, only one had been picked any lower than fifth in its respective conference. Of the Rams' first six opponents, half are either expected to win their conference or picked as the runner-up.

Rams in Second Season at CSU Soccer Field

The Colorado State women's soccer program, which is in its sixth season in 2018, moved to a new, permanent home in 2018. After playing its matches in Fort Collins at The Lagoon from 2014-16, the Rams now call CSU Soccer Field home.
The Rams' new facility, which was designed with consideration to both training and official matches, is located directly adjacent to Moby Arena and CSU softball's Ram Field at the intersection of Shields and Elizabeth Streets.
Fans looking to attend a home CSU soccer match may park in the Moby Arena parking lot, conveniently located immediately next to the Rams' new facility. Entrances to the Moby Arena parking lot are located on Shields Street and on Plum Street.
Fans attending a CSU home match can expect seating and set-up similar to game days at The Lagoon, and are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets or other similar items to use for seating at a match. Some bleacher seating is available.

Lordemann Becomes Program's All-Time Goals Leader

With her goal in the 88th minute of the Rams' Senior Day match against Nevada on Sunday, Oct. 21, junior midfielder Caeley Lordemann took over as the Rams' all-time career goals leader. That goal, which was her eighth tally as a Ram, moved her past current senior forward Hannah Gerdin (seven from 2015-18) on CSU's all-time career list.
Combining to reach that total are five goals this season and three in 2017, which rank as team bests each year. Lordemann's five goals this season also match Gerdin's five in 2015, the most in a single season in CSU's six-year history.
Lordemann ranks fourth in the Mountain West in goals scored in conference play. No midfielder has more goals than the Rams' junior in Mountain West matches.

Peifer Atop CSU Goalkeeping Record Books

In her two seasons with Colorado State, goalkeeper Hunter Peifer has positioned herself atop a myriad of the Rams' all-time goalkeeping records. Among those are shutouts, wins and ties.
Peifer's seven shutouts in 2018, also a single-season record, have hoisted her to 11 for her career. Those are not only a program record, but also as many as every other goalkeeper in CSU history has combined to earn.
Peifer has also been in goal for 10 of the Rams' wins and nine ties. Colorado State has played to a draw with its opponent 16 times, giving Peifer more than half of the ties credited to Ram goalkeepers in program history.

Halley Havlicek Named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 8

After leading the Rams' defense to shutouts over Air Force and Colorado College, junior defender Halley Havlicek was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 8.
Havlicek anchored the Colorado State defense to its first consecutive shutouts in conference matches in program history. Behind those shutouts, CSU defeated Air Force, 1-0, and drew with Colorado College, 0-0 (2OT), to finish off an undefeated weekend at home. The junior saw the field for all 200 possible minutes between the two matches.
Colorado State did not allow a shot on goal to Air Force on Friday, marking the first time in program history that the Rams have held an opponent without a shot on goal for the duration of a match. CSU followed that by holding Colorado College without a shot on goal for the first 58 minutes of Sunday's match, giving the Rams a streak of 148 minutes without a shot on goal against before the Tigers tallied their first of the match in the 59th minute.

Beth Plentl Tabbed Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 17

After scoring the go-ahead goal to knock off SMU, senior midfielder Beth Plentl was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week. The conference announced her accolade on Monday, Sept. 17.
Plentl is the second in the now-six-season history of Colorado State women's soccer to be named MW Offensive Player of the Week, joining current sophomore forward Ally Murphy-Pauletto (Sept. 4, 2017). The senior is the third Ram overall to earn a weekly accolade, and second this season, along with current redshirt junior goalkeeper Hunter Peifer (MW Defensive Player of the Week for Aug. 20, 2018).
In addition, Colorado State was one of only three teams in the Mountain West to have a weekly accolade on each of the offensive and defensive sides through nonconference play. The other schools were UNLV and Nevada.

Hunter Peifer Named Aug. 20 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week

After helping lead the Colorado State women's soccer team to a pair of draws at Denver and at Colorado, redshirt junior goalkeeper Hunter Peifer was tabbed the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week. The conference announced her recognition on Monday, Aug. 20.
Also CSU's first-ever All-Mountain West selection, Peifer becomes the program's first Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week.
Peifer's shutout at CU was particularly notable, as her 10 saves rank as the second-most by a single player in a single match in program history. The performances by Peifer and CSU came against a CU team that was receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll and was considered for the Top Drawer Soccer DI Top 25.

Rams' Top Eight Scorers from 2017 Return for 2018

In addition to the return of a conference-high 20 letterwinners, Colorado State returns each of its top eight points scorers from the 2017 squad. Makenzi Taylor, a senior in 2018, paced the Rams with eight points last season (two goals, four assists).
Each of sophomore Karli Eheart, junior Halley Havlicek and sophomore Ally Murphy-Pauletto had seven points in 2017 (three goals, one assist).

Havlicek and Ornes Named Captains for 2018 Season

Colorado State women's soccer and head coach Bill Hempen announced on Friday, March 23 that junior Halley Havlicek and senior Kaija Ornes were named team captains for 2018.
Havlicek, a defender from Spring Grove, Ill., has appeared in 37 matches with 35 starts through her first two collegiate seasons. Havlicek started all 19 matches in 2017, leading the team with 1,780 minutes played. The junior tied for the team lead with three goals in 2017, and ranked second on the team with seven points last season.
Ornes, a forward from Prior Lake, Minn., has appeared in 56 with starts in 43 for Colorado State prior to 2018. Ornes enters 2018 with five career goals, tied for the third-most in a career in CSU soccer's five-year history. The rising senior forward was the Rams' leading scorer as a sophomore in 2016, pacing the team in points (eight) and goals (four).

Rams Return Program's All-Time Leading Scorer

Senior Hannah Gerdin enters the 2018 season as the holder of 15 of CSU soccer's all-time records. Among the records she holds are the program's all-time points lead (19 entering 2018) and goals (seven entering 2018).
Gerdin became the Rams' all-time career goals leader with her goal against Utah State on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017. That goal against Utah State, the seventh of her career, broke a tie with Gianna Bertana. Gerdin had five goals her freshman season and one in 2016.
Gerdin already ranks as the program's all-time points leader after her sophomore season. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native entered the 2017 season with a program-best 17 points and added a pair of points as a junior.

Nationally Recognized

Following a historic offensive weekend, then-freshman forward Ally Murphy-Pauletto gained national attention when she was named the NCAA Soccer Women's Player of the Week on Sept. 6, 2017.
Murphy-Pauletto became the first student-athlete in program history to record a hat trick in the Rams' 5-1 win over then-undefeated New Mexico State (Sept. 4, 2017). CSU's win was its first-ever at CSU Soccer Field, while the Rams' five goals against the Aggies marked a new single-match team record.
Murphy-Pauletto is the fastest Ram to register her first three career goals, reaching that mark before any Ram ever reached her first two career goals (Hannah Gerdin – two goals in first six career matches in 2015).
