Runnels Leads No. 16 Rams in Border War Battle

The redshirt junior floored a career-high 29 kills while setting the modern scoring kill record in a five-set match.

LARAMIE, Wyo. – They call it the Border War for a reason.

The No. 16 Colorado State volleyball team had to battle and use five sets to claim the first edition of the Border War Tuesday night in a hostile environment against Wyoming. Outside hitter, Breana Runnels had a career night, flooring 29 kills while hitting an impressive .404 and in the process recorded her 1,000th-career kill. Her kills were not only a career high, but they set a school modern scoring record for a five-set match.
