On Liz…
"A friend of mine put it this way, "you can either coach speed or chase it". Liz will be one of the strongest fastest kids on our team. We enhanced our overall team speed this past season and in Liz we only take another step up. We see her as an outside defender that will be very hard to get behind.  Liz has the mentality that her opponent will have to work extremely hard to beat her and her personality lends itself to the fact that coming in second is not an option." – Bill Hempen

Amelia Hammerle | Goalkeeper
Attended Friendswood High School in Houston, Texas … As a freshman (2016-17), played every game for the Mustangs to help a 14-8-3 record … Tallied 1,920 minutes played, 107 saves, 22 GA, 4.5 s/g, .938 s% … 24-6A girls' Goalkeeper MVP … First Team All-Region; Girls R3 6A … Galveston County Daily News all-county first team … All-Greater Houston second team … Friendswood High School Soccer Rookie of the Year … Since played club for ECNL for Texas Rush for a year and Houston Dash for three-straight years … Last season had a 100% save percent, and recorded a 93.3% save percentage the year before … Two-star recruit from TopDrawerSoccer.com …
National Honor Society Member … President of Habitat for Humanity Club … Student Council Officer … National English Honor Society Member … Top 8% of High School Class … Interned at NASA as a High School Aerospace Scholar in July of 2019.

On Amelia…
"Amelia has a quality in the goal keeper position that is a challenge to find. She is good with the ball at her feet. That sounds like a given requirement but for a goal keeper, a player that uses her hands predominantly, being good with your feet is not usually a priority. In how we try to play, being comfortable using our goal keepers in possession, this was a big deal for us. She plays the position very well as far as shot stopping and decision making off her line also, so we feel we have a good one here." – Bill Hempen

Kenady Leighton | Defender
Attended Sheldon High School In Eugene, Ore. … As a freshman in 2016-17, helped SHS to 16-1-2 for No. 11 in state and a quarterfinals appearance in the OSAA 6A tournament … Named second team all-southwest conference … Team's varsity defensive player of the year … Since has been a captain all three years on club team, Portland Thorns Academy … This season – started all 6 games with one goal (100% shot percentage) … In 2018-19, started 17 of 18 games played with one goal (70.8% shot percentage) … In 2016-17, started 15 of 20 games with one goal (55.6% shot percentage) … Competed in the annual US Youth Soccer ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional Region IV in 2016 Boca Raton, Fla. … ODP Regional Team … ODP State Team … U.S. Soccer Training Invite … Also competed in track, 100m, 200m, 400m, relays … As a freshman district champion in 400m and 4x400m relay … As a sophomore, finished sixth place at the Oregon state track meet in the 4x100m, and was first in district on the 4x400m relay … National Honor Society.

On Kenady…
"We knew of Kenady through email contact only.  When our staff is out recruiting, we are usually scattered around the complex seeing as many kids as we can. When I came upon the field that Kenady was playing, I started as I usually do, settling in my seat to begin the evaluation.  Within minutes, I rechecked my notes to make sure I was watching the right player.  I called Seb and Tori and told them to meet me at the field to get their eyes on her as well. We had been in search of a specific position player and what qualities that player needed to have.  Kenady met all the criteria." – Bill Hempen

Jessica Arnold | Goalkeeper
Attended Olathe East High School in Overland Park, Kan.… Helped team go 11-5 as a sophomore … Plays Club Sporting Blue Valley … In 2018-19, started 23 games with a perfect save percentage … Voted co-captained in consecutive years … 2015 Kansas ODP State Team (ODP) … Also played golf … Involved in school with Hawk Leaders, helping bridge gaps of different grades … National Honor society.

On Jessica…
"Jessica is another very talented goal keeper we think can challenge right away for the opportunity to play. She is a very good shot stopper to go with above average distribution skills, throwing, punting or playing from the ground. These are such an underappreciated skills necessary for this position, so we are looking forward to seeing Jessica compete on a daily basis with the Rams." – Bill Hempen

Junis Andersson | Midfielder
Attended school at Fria Läroverken Linköping in Linköping, Sweden … Plays for IFK Norrköping … Played on the state team and won the Swedish championship 2018 ... Played youth on Linkoping FC U19 in the women's champion league.

On Junis…
"Junis is coming a long way to be a Ram. Playing club soccer in Sweden for one of the top clubs, we are convinced Junis will have an immediate impact.  Junis will play in the mid field for the Rams.  We use the term "field awareness" a lot and Junis has just that.  Constant evaluation of her surroundings allows her to be one pass ahead of the opponent.  She can shred a defender on the dribble or slice through them with a smooth pass. This young lady can play, and we can't think of a better place for her than Fort Collins Colorado." – Bill Hempen
