Nelson named Mountain West Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State softball player, Amber Nelson has been named the Mountain West softball Player of the Week for last weekend's performances. It is the first MW weekly accolade for Nelson and the third consecutive week that the Rams have earn a weekly award.
Amber Nelson – Player of the Week
- Helped lead the Rams to a perfect 5-0 record on the weekend in the Colorado State Classic II posting wins over Dayton (14-3, 10-0), Syracuse (8-6, 8-0) and Wagner (8-0).
- Started the tournament against Dayton with four RBIs, including a single and a three-run homer, to give the Rams a 14-1 advantage in the fourth inning.
- In the second contest against the Flyers, tallied two homers (both three-run shots) to pick up their second win on the weekend.
- Led the team with a .778 batting average, slugging 1.889 with seven hits, three home runs and 11 RBIs. The senior also drew a team-high six walks over the six games and scored five runs, while not recording an error behind the plate.
