Colorado State’s record winning streak is halted at 20 games

SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Colorado State softball team's record winning streak came to an end on Sunday with a 3-2 loss to San Jose State in the final game of the series. The Rams went down 3-0 after the first inning and couldn't recover despite holding the Spartans scoreless the rest of the game.
STAT OF THE GAME
The loss is the first for the Rams in 42 days and the first in Mountain West play.
NOTES
- Haley Donaldson led the Rams finished 2-for-3 from the dish, including scoring a run
- Tara Shadowen and Lauren Buchanan each tallied an RBI
- The Rams recorded four doubles each by four different players
- Taylor Gilmore (6-2) started the game allowing the three earned runs and not recording an out
- Bridgette Hutton came in and finished the game, throwing six frames and striking out three
San Jose State took the lead in the first inning after starting the game with a pair of walks and singles to score a run. The Spartans added a pair of runs on a fielder's choice and a sac fly to lead 3-0.
The Rams got on the board in the fourth after Buchanan doubled down the left-field line to push a run across. CSU got within one in the next frame on a Shadowen sac fly. Colorado State put runners on first and second base with one out in the seventh, but couldn't complete the comeback.

The Rams will return to Ram Field and host second-place UNLV for a three-game series starting on Friday.
