FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A tussle of Mountain West's best will be on display Wednesday evening as Colorado State and its top-scoring defense will take on undefeated Fresno State, MW's best scoring offense, at the Save Mart Center.

The tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT and will be available on the Mountain West Network.

Sitting alone atop of the MW standings, Fresno State is 7-0 in conference games, while holding a 14-4 overall record with six-straight wins. At 3-4 in MW play, the Rams stand in the middle of the pack – sixth – and are 9-9 overall, the only team right at .500 for the season.

Coach's Corner
Head Coach Ryun Williams
On Fresno State's team…
"They have the ability to fight back even when they are beat. They were down against San Jose State and New Mexico but came back and won. It shows that they are tough-minded. They are a good team that believes what they are doing and play with great confidence. We are in for a barn burner. Our series has been a rivalry as of late with close games, so we expect another contested game."

Off The Tip
• Last time out, the Rams blitzed Air Force in the first quarter 23-5 en route to a 60-40 victory at Moby Arena on Saturday. CSU's defense held the Falcons to their lowest first-half output of the season at 13 points and eventual lowest total points of the season. For the Rams' defense that shares the throne as the top scoring defense in the MW, it marked the fifth time an opponent didn't eclipsed 50 points. The Falcons went 0-for-13 shooting from behind the arc for a MW low.  After an off night at New Mexico, Makenzie Ellis returned to form with 19 points and eight rebounds - both team highs.

• Forwards Andrea Brady and Makenzie Ellis have been the Rams' stalwart as of late. Ellis has double-digit scoring games in seven of the past nine contests. Since the turn of the calendar, Ellis has poured in 85 points in five games (17.0 ppg). In the same time frame, Brady has compiled 52 rebounds (10.4 rpg) with 44 points (8.8 ppg). Brady's 23-rebound performance against San Jose State represents stands third in NCAA DI this season, while it set a single-game record at CSU.

• Colorado State's floor general, Tori Williams, is back. After missing four games at the tail end of the 2019 schedule, Williams returned for the Tulsa game. Since, she has averaged 11.5 ppg, 2.5 3FG/G, 3 apg, 1.2 spg in 35.3 mpg across the six games. In each of the past two games, she has played the most minutes for the Rams.

• Defense continues to be the Rams' specialty. Nine times this season CSU, the MW best scoring defense (59.4 ppg), has held an opponent to less than 60 points. Five times this season the Rams have kept its counterpart below 50 points - a feat not replicated in the conference. Thirteen times this season, CSU held its opponent to under 10 points in a quarter including four times it has been under five points.

• Ball control a strength for the Rams. CSU has had less turnovers than its opponent in all but four games (UIW, BSU, NM, AFA), ranking second in the Mountain West in turnovers per game (11.8), which checks in eighth nationally. The turnover margin (+4.11) is third in the MW and 48th in the NCAA. In all but four games (SDSU, BSU, TUL, NM), the Rams have scored more points off of the turnovers than its counterpart.

• Redshirt-senior forward Andrea Brady has pulled in a team-high 162 rebounds, which ranks third in the Mountain West and 41st in the NCAA. Average-wise that pans out to 9.0 a game for third in the conference and 64th nationally. She has five double-digit board games with a high of 23 and has had at least six in all but two games. She is on pace for 270 rebounds which would put her in CSU's all-time top-10 single-season record list.

What to Watch For? (Stats based on all games)

Scouting Fresno State Bulldogs
• Fresno State has won seven straight games at home with its last defeat being to BYU on Nov. 21st. The Bulldogs' most recent game was a 30-point victory over Wyoming at home on Saturday. In the preseason poll, the Bulldogs were pinned to finish third in the MW after concluding last season in fourth place.
• Back-to-back MW Player of the Week recipient Maddi Utti leads FS's offense that ranks atop of the conference with (78.2 ppg) and second in field goal percentage (.438). Additionally, Fresno has the top 2-through-4 scorers in the conference with Utti (17.2) and the Cavinder sisters (Haley, 16.4; Hanna, 16.4).
• Maddi Utti collected 16 rebounds to go with 11 points in 25 minutes in an 89-59 win over Wyoming. Her final point of the game was the 1,000th of her career as she became the 25th Bulldog to reach the milestone.
• The Cavinder sisters (Haley & Hanna) are freshmen and taking the conference by storm. They both reside in the top-5 in MW scoring, while Haley is seventh in rebounding. Hanna can be found in the top-10 list for field goal percentage and assists. From 3, Haley is the one to watch as she is third in 3FGM and 3FG% in MW.
