FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State will depart Tuesday for a week in the state of Nevada – CSU's only back-to-back away games this season.

First, the Rams will play Nevada on Wednesday, Jan. 29 with a 6:30 p.m. PT tip in Reno. And then, CSU will travel to Las Vegas to play UNLV Saturday, Feb. 1 with a 3 p.m. PT.

In the Mountain West Standings, the Rams (4-5) reside in the middle of the pack in sixth, while the Wolf Pack (2-7) and Lady Rebels (6-3) stand in ninth and fourth, respectively.

The Nevada game is the second in the series for the season as the Rams wound up on the better half of the New Year's Day meeting in a 75-70 win at Moby Arena. Since that contest, the Wolf Pack have gone 2-5 overall, while the Rams are 3-3 in the same stretch.

Coach's Corner
Head Coach Ryun Williams
On the lengthy road trip…
"We are staying on the road in between games, which we have done before a couple of times. It saves money, but also it is tough to ask your student-athletes to play Wednesday night, travel home, and then be back on a plane Friday. It's just too much, so we are extending the trip into one. We'll fly into Las Vegas on Thursday after playing the night before and do our normal routine of resting, stretching and preparing for the Saturday game."

On playing Nevada again…
"We got off to a great start attacking their zone when we played them a few weeks ago. One thing we are going to have to improve on in this game is our defense. They are very dynamic in putting the ball on the floor and getting to the basket. We gave up a lot of drives and fouled too many times, so we need to contain the dribble better. Also, they are playing at home where they tend to play faster and get the crowd into it, so we will have to be discipline with our transition defense and getting back after shots."

Off The Tip
• Last time out, the Rams notched their eighth win of the season inside Moby Arena with a 56-55 decision against Utah State. CSU, the MW top-scoring defense, denied the Aggies of a chance to win on the final possession of the game and ultimately kept its third-straight opponent to less than 60 points. The Rams flipped 20 Aggie turnovers into 21 points, while only committing seven turnovers to fall under their MW-leading average of 11.3 turnovers per game (3rd in NCAA).

Ryun Williams moved to 8-0 at CSU in first games to start a new year with the win over Nevada, 75-70, on New Year's Day inside Moby Arena. The Rams ended their 12-game Mountain West losing streak as well. CSU outshot Nevada 52.5 percent to 45.3 percent in a display of offenses. The Rams did damage in the paint to a tone of 38 points - the most since the season opener's 42. Makenzie Ellis dropped 10 points in the fourth quarter en route to a then career-best 19. Andrea Brady notched her third double-double of the season, while Jamie Bonnarens reached double digits at 17 points after three games below 10.

• Forwards Andrea Brady and Makenzie Ellis have been the Rams' stalwart as of late. Ellis has double-digit scoring games in nine of the past 11 contests. Since the turn of the calendar, Ellis has poured in 109 points in seven games (15.6 ppg). In the same time frame, Brady has compiled 69 rebounds (9.9 rpg) with 66 points (9.4 ppg). Brady's 23-rebound performance against San Jose State represents stands third in NCAA DI this season, while it set a single-game record at CSU.

• Colorado State's floor general, Tori Williams, is back. After missing four games, Tori Williams returned for the Tulsa game. Since, she has averaged 10.5 ppg, 3.5 3FG/G, 2.8 apg, 0.9 spg in 34.8 mpg across the eight games. She has played the most minutes for the Rams in three of the past four contests.

• Defense continues to be the Rams' specialty. Eleven times this season CSU, the MW best scoring defense (59.0 ppg), has held an opponent to less than 60 points. Five times, the Rams have kept its counterpart below 50 points - a feat not replicated in the MW. Forteen times this season, CSU held its opponent to under 10 points in a quarter including four times it has been under five points.

• Ball control a strength for the Rams. CSU has had less turnovers than its opponent in all but four games (UIW, BSU, NM, AFA), ranking first in the Mountain West in turnovers per game (11.3), which checks in fourth nationally. The turnover margin (+4.4) is second in the MW and 36th in the NCAA. In all but four games (SDSU, BSU, TUL, NM), the Rams have scored more points off of the turnovers than its counterpart.

• Redshirt-senior forward Andrea Brady has pulled in a team-high 179 rebounds, which ranks third in the Mountain West and 36th in the NCAA. Average-wise that pans out to 9.0 a game for third in the conference and 66th nationally. She has five double-digit board games with a high of 23 and has had at least six in all but two games. She is on pace for 269.0 rebounds which would put her in CSU's all-time top-10 single-season record list.

What to Watch For? (Stats based on all games)
• Nevada Scoring Offense (5th in MW) vs. CSU scoring defense (1st in MW)
• Nevada FG% (6th in MW) vs. CSU FG% defense (1st in MW)
• Nevada TO margin (6th in MW) vs. CSU TO margin (2nd in MW)
• Nevada 3FGM (10th in MW) vs. CSU 3FGM (3rd in MW)

Scouting Nevada Wolf Pack
• In the preseason poll, the Wolf Pack were pinned to finish ninth in the MW after concluding last season in eighth place.
• Leading NEV is Marguerite Effa, a 6-3 senior forward, who ranks 19th in scoring and seventh in rebounding among the MW. However, the Rams limited Effa to two points and eight rebounds, leaving most of the scoring to Essence Booker (18), Miki'ala Maio (20) and Dom Phillips (17).
• Last time out, Nevada lost 87-67 at New Mexico on Saturday afternoon. Senior Marguerite Effa's 11-point outing marked her sixth consecutive game in double digits. She is averaging 17 points per game in that span since scoring just two at Moby Arena.
• Effa had the game of her career vs. SJSU. Effa totaled 31 points and 15 rebounds, both of which are career highs, to post her second double-double of the season. She is the only player in the MW to score 30+ and record a double-double while doing so.
• The Wolf Pack stand fifth in the MW in assists (280) with an average of 14 apg.
