Colorado State Tennis Wins First Match of the Season

There’s no rain on the Ram parade today; clear skies all the way.
PHOENIX – The Colorado State women's tennis team won its first match of the season on Sunday, defeating Grand Canyon University, 4-3.
MATCH NOTES
-With clear skies and warmer weather, the Rams had a great start to their day in Arizona.
-Priscilla Palermo and Alyssa Grijalva won their doubles matchup, 6-4.
-No. 1 Doubles team Emily Luetschwager and Stella Cliffe bested GCU's Emilia Occhipinti and Celina Buhr, 7-5. With this victory, the Rams secured the doubles point.
-In singles, Palermo clinched CSU's first win in singles, 7-6 (2), 6-1.
-Emma Corwin and Grijalva were the last two playing at singles when the Rams were down, 3-2. Each battled hard, emerging with a point for Colorado State, each, after coming back from losing first sets.
-Corwin finished 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, while Grijalva defeated the Lopes in singles, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 and made the Rams' triumph official.
