Rams Welcome Graduate Transfer Haylee Blach from Creighton
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Haylee Blach, a 5-7 defender from Centennial, Colorado, will join the Colorado State Rams as a graduate transfer for the 2020 season, head coach Bill Hempen announced on Monday. Blach will do so after graduating from Creighton in May with a degree in advertising and public relations.
Blach is the second Bluejay turned Ram in recent history as her 2016 freshman class teammate, Caeley Lordemann, transferred to Colorado State after the 2016 season.
"Haylee will add four years of college experience to our program," Hempen said. "She is quite athletic and can play as a midfielder or defender. I have known Haylee for a while before she went off to Creighton as she is a Colorado native. She is a gem of an individual and will fit in well with the group we have for 2020."
Blach started 20 of her 23 total matches played in her Bluejays tenure that began in 2016 with a redshirt season. The 2017 campaign was her most successful as she started 14 of 16 games and spent 1,219 minutes on the pitch. Despite being a defender, she tied for the team lead with two assists. In 2018, a leg injury halted her redshirt-sophomore season at six starts and 442 minutes played. Blach wrapped up her career in Omaha with one appearance in the 2019 season, which came exactly one year after her injury.
The Colorado native came out of Regis Jesuit High School where she earned a combined five letters in soccer (three) and basketball (two). During her senior year, Blach was named a Continental League Second Team selection, adding to her honorable mention nod following her junior season. In the club sector, Blach played for the Colorado Storm, where she played with former Rams Maddie Kessler and Lordemann.
Adding Blach moves the Rams roster to 13 upperclassmen.
