The Rams had four in double figures, including Isaiah Rivera's career-high 13

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Playing its third game in six days to open the season, Colorado State jumped out early and finished with an 88-62 victory over Peru State Sunday afternoon in Moby Arena. The Rams have picked up victories in all three to start the 2021-22 campaign.

In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, CSU scored on its first possession of the game on a backdoor layup for junior Isaiah Stevens and poured in the first eight points of the game. The Rams built up the lead to 16 at the intermission, 46-30, and never looked back. A slow start in the second half allowed the visitors to stay within 14 in the first eight minutes but could get no closer the rest of the way, as an 11-0 run over 1:50 finally salted the game away.

Colorado State shot 55.9 percent (33-of-59) from the field but just 38.1 percent (8-of-21) on threes. Peru State finished 45.3 percent (24-of-53) from the floor and 38.9 percent (7-of-18) beyond the three-point line. The Rams won the battle of the boards 34-25 and converted 17 Bobcat turnovers into 25 points.

Junior David Roddy finished just shy of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds, while fellow junior had 16 points and three assists. Sophomore Isaiah Rivera finished with a career-high 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while senior Chandler Jacobs chipped in 10. Peru State was led by Skyler Wilson with 13 as the only Bobcat in double figures.
