Rams Return Home to Host Nevada and San Jose State

Colorado State to play top conference rival in the Spartans, Saturday
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Rams remain unbeaten in Mountain West play after a two-win road trip this past weekend to Air Force and New Mexico, but as they return to their home court this week the Colorado State Volleyball team will face off against Nevada and the only other unbeaten team in the conference, San Jose State.

What You Need to Know
- The Rams are coming off a strong first away weekend in conference play with wins over Air Force (3-0) and New Mexico (3-1).
- Colorado State swept the Falcons last Thursday night as it continued to improve on its conference leading hitting percentage by hitting a team .365 with 41 kills. The Rams season hitting percentage is .267, leading the Mountain West.
- On Saturday against the Lobos, Colorado State was able to prevent a momentum switch to beat New Mexico, 3-1. The Rams took the first two sets, but when New Mexico rallied back in the third set, Colorado State came back even stronger to end its road trip 2-0.
- Each opponent for this upcoming weekend of volleyball has similar history with the Rams and with Head Coach Tom Hilbert.
- While the Wolf Pack have won in Fort Collins before, and in less tries than the Spartans, San Jose State has the better historical record against the Rams.
- Colorado State has only lost to Nevada once in the new millennium while three of San Jose State's four wins over Hilbert have come since 2016.

Match Notes Nuggets
- Junior outside hitter and reigning Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week Kennedy Stanford continued her hot streak by hitting a whopping .632 hitting percentage Thursday over Air Force. The Texas native had 12 kills in just three sets, a season high for her, while adding one block and six digs.
- The Rams performance from the service line continues to improve as setter Ciera Pritchard rallied three aces over Air Force and junior Ruby Kayser added three against the Lobos.
- Junior Naeemah Weathers continues to be a wall in the front row for the Rams as the middle blocked stuffed six blocks over New Mexico on Saturday while adding 13 kills on a .524 hitting percentage for one of her best overall performances this season. Weathers has climbed into seventh place among Mountain West hitters for hitting percentage, averaging a .336 this season.
- Playing in the second middle rotation for the Rams, Karina Leber also played well against the Lobos last Saturday as she totaled 13 kills and three blocks.
- Alyssa Groves came in as a late substitution for Colorado State against New Mexico and took advantage of her limited minutes finishing with two kills and two blocks en route to an 11 total block team performance.
