Rams Use Complete Game in Win Over Weber State

CSU men's basketball improved to 3-0 Monday night
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – It was a complete game across the board for Colorado State men's basketball as they improved to 3-0 on the year with a 77-52 win over Weber State Monday night. The Rams closed the first half strong and never let WSU cut the lead below 17 points in the final 20 minutes to earn the win.

Ten of the 11 Rams that saw action in the game scored at least a point and CSU recorded 20 assists on 29 makes. Meanwhile, they held Weber State to 33.9% shooting, the lowest percentage an opponent has shot all season.

Colorado State started strong with a pair of threes in their first three shot attempts but then were unable to buy a basket for the next five minutes. Despite the drought CSU only trailed 9-8 before responding by outscoring the Wildcats 28-6 over the final 12:11 of the first half to take a 36-15 lead to the break.

CSU held Weber State to just 5-of-20 from the field in the first half while capitalizing on the long ball with seven made threes.

The Rams offense turned it up in the second half as they shot 61.5% from the field. CSU quickly grew the lead into the 20s and never looked back to cruise to victory.

Game Notes
- Josiah Strong made his debut in the Green & Gold playing 13 minutes scoring eight points on a perfect night from the field including a pair of threes. He also drew a charge just seconds after checking into the game.
- Four different Rams reached double figures scoring led by John Tonje's 15 points. Tonje grabbed five rebounds and three steals to go with his scoring.
- Jalen Lake scored 12 points on the night all behind the arc. He added five assists and four rebounds.
- Baylor Hebb had a career-high six assists.
- Freshman Taviontae Jackson had his second straight double figures scoring night with 14 points alongside four assists, three steals and three rebounds
- Kyle Evans scored his first career points in the game, finishing with five points.

Colorado State heads east for the 2022 Shriners Charleston Classic November 17-20. The Rams open the tournament against South Carolina at 3 pm MT on the 17th.
