Rested Rams Head to Boise Saturday

Colorado State men’s basketball returns to action at Boise State Saturday evening.
FORT COLLINS, Colo.  – Following playing eight straight games to open the Mountain West schedule CSU finally had an off week leading up to Saturday's game. The Rams return to action taking on Boise State at 6 pm inside Extra Mile Arena. The game will air on CBS Sports Network and over the airwaves of K99.1.

Opening Tip
- Colorado State's furious second half comeback fell just short in the Border War falling to Wyoming in Laramie 58-57.
- Isaiah Stevens became the program's career assists leader in the game now sitting at 536 passing Ryan Yoder and his 530.
- Stevens recorded his second straight double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. It is the first points, rebounds double-double of his career. He also has eight points, assists double-doubles.
- The next Stevens double-double will be the 10th of his career, making him the 22nd player in program history with double figure double-doubles.
- He is now also fourth on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,566 passing Rich Strong (1982-86) and his 1,554.
- John Tonje had a strong game for the Rams scoring 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds. He converted at the charity stripe going 5-of-6.
- Patrick Cartier was the only other Ram in double figures scoring 13. He added in a career-high tying three steals.
- Cartier is 11th in the nation shooting 64.3% from the field. The mark leads the Mountain West.
- Boise State has six of their last seven games with the lone loss coming at New Mexico in overtime by two.
- The Broncos won the 2022 Mountain West Regular Season title despite dropping both games to CSU last season, including an overtime win in Boise.
- Defense is a key for the Broncos who lead the Mountain West in field goal % defense (39.7) and scoring defense allowing 61.2 points per game.

Scouting the Broncos
Leon Rice has another strong Boise State team who enters Saturday winners of six of their past seven contests with the one loss coming in overtime by two points against New Mexico. Overall the Broncos are 16-5 on the year and 6-2 in Mountain West play.

BSU's starting five do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to scoring averaging 59.8 of their 72.7 points per game. Tyson Degenhart leads the way with 14.3 ppg while Marcus Shaver Jr (13.5), Max Rice (13.3) and Chibuzo Agbo (11.7) are adding in double figures too.

Boise State leads the conference in opponent's points per game (61.2) and opponent's field goal percentage (39.7%). They also do a good job taking away the 3-pointer from team holding opponents to just 28.6% and 5.6 makes a game.
