Rams Fall on a Soggy Day in Boise

Colorado State unable to match offensive power of the Broncos
Colorado State soccer (1-2-1) went into Sunday's meeting with Boise State looking for their first win against the Broncos in program history, they finished the match still looking as they fell to Boise State (3-0-1) 4-1.
ÂColorado State struck first on a rainy afternoon in Boise, Idaho, when Olivia Fout scored her 8th goal of the season in the 13th minute. The score moves Fout into second most goals scored in a single season in program history, only trailing Caeley Lordemann in 2019 (11). Ali Yoshida was credited with the assist.
ÂFor the Rams, the four goals allowed on Sunday were the most in a match this season. The Broncos evened things up with a goal in the 24th minute and proceeded to take a lead with another tally less than five minutes later.
ÂÂ Boise State outgunned the Rams in the first half firing six shots compared to the Rams' two. However, Colorado State turned the tables in the second half outshooting the Broncos 8-5. Boise State goaltender, Genevieve Crenshaw made an impressive six total saves, all coming in the second half.Â
ÂThe Broncos took a 2-1 lead into the break that was quickly added upon in the 53rd minute and finally in the 67th.Â
ÂThe Rams have another week on the road starting Thursday when they take on Fresno State at 7 p.m. They then wrap up their second straight week away from Fort Collins with San Jose State on Sunday at noon.
