Men’s basketball heads to Los Angeles prior to holiday break
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State men's basketball heads west just before the holiday break as the No. 16/17 Rams will face the Lions of LMU on Friday night at 8 pm MT.

Opening Tip
- Colorado State dusted off the rust from an eight-day layoff to pick up the 86-54 win over CSU-Pueblo on Sunday. The win was CSU's 10th of the season. All five starters for the Rams scored in double figures.
- CSU is in a stretch where they only play three games in 21 days.
- The Rams continue to be ranked in the polls checking in at No. 16 for the AP and No. 17 for the Coaches Poll.
- Head coach Niko Medved is in his sixth year leading Colorado State. He is 102-65 as the Rams' head coach. The win on December 2 against Washington was the 100th for him leading the Green & Gold. Medved is now one of five coaches in the program's history to reach the 100 wins mark.
- Isaiah Stevens returns for his final year of eligibility and the nation is taking notice of the guard. Stevens was named the Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year, Wooden Top 50 Preseason List and one of 20 players named to the Bob Cousy Preseason Watch List.
- He sits in the top 5 for active players in both scoring (3rd) and assists (2nd).
- Stevens has three double-doubles on the year and already reset one of his own records when he posted 14 assists against Wright State. He is averaging 17.5 points, 7.4 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 51.1% from the field and 42.9% behind the arc.
- He is 14 points away from breaking the Colorado State all-time scoring record currently held by Pat Durham (1985-89) with 1,980 points. Stevens is also an assist away from 700 in his career and three made field goals away from breaking Durham's record (705).
- Newcomer Joel Scott continues to be a big presence inside for CSU averaging 13.0 points and 6.4 rebounds.
- Nique Clifford has enjoyed his time in Fort Collins transferring to Colorado State from Colorado. He is shooting an impressive 56.2% from the field including 50.0% from behind the arc on his way to averaging 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. He just missed out on back-to-back double-doubles with 13 points and nine rebounds against CSU-Pueblo.
- Patrick Cartier missed two games for Colorado State, but since returning has not missed a beat. He is averaging 12.7 points on 61.3% shooting.
- Colorado State leads the Mountain West in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.99), assists per game (20.1), effective field goal percentage (5934%), fastbreak points (16.00), field goal percentage (51.9%) and free throw percentage (77.7%).
- Last year Isaiah Stevens made his season debut against LMU scoring 13 points to go with four assists and three rebounds returning from a foot injury.
- LMU already played once this week, defeating Detroit Mercy 76-56.
- Friday's game is the second of the season against a WCC opponent for CSU.
