CSU men’s basketball hosts its annual Fight Like a Ram night

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Saturday night's basketball game between Colorado State and Utah State goes well beyond the final score. The Rams host their annual Fight Like a Ram game in which they partner with UCHealth to recognize and honor cancer patients in the Northern Colorado area.

The game between the Rams and Aggies tips off at 6 pm. It airs on CBS Sports Network and over the airwaves of K99.1 FM.

Opening Tip
- Colorado State tried to come back late but fell into an early hole that was too much to overcome falling 83-71 to UNLV.
- Saturday's game is CSU's annual Fight Like a Ram night that honors cancer warriors and their fight against it. Each player will don the name of a cancer warrior on the back of their uniforms rather than their own.
- Four Rams reached double figures scoring in Isaiah Stevens (18), Patrick Cartier (17), John Tonje (17) and Isaiah Rivera (17).
- Stevens added seven assists to lead the team.
- The next Stevens double-double will be the 10th of his career, making him the 22nd player in program history with double figure double-doubles.
- Cartier and Rivera each had season-highs in rebounds with eight and seven each. Rivera's number matched a career high.
- Cartier is seventh in the nation shooting 65.6% from the field. The mark leads the Mountain West. He is coming off a perfect, 5-for-5, performance Tuesday.
- Saturday's game is the lone scheduled match up between the two teams this season.
- Utah State picked up an 84-73 win over New Mexico at home on Wednesday.
-The Aggies are the best 3-point shooting team in the nation at a rate of 41.5%.

Scouting the Aggies
Second year coach Ryan Odom has his team performing at a high level offensively. They are averaging 80.0 points per game and have the top effective field goal percentage in the Mountain West at 57.3%.

A key to USU's success has been hitting shots from behind the arc. They lead the nation by making 41.5% of their 3-point attempts and are making 9.9 per game.

Five Aggies are averaging double figures scoring led by Steven Ashworth and his 15.4 points per game.

What's Ahead
Colorado State heads down I25 on Tuesday to face Air Force in Clune Arena at 7 pm. The Rams aim to avenge an earlier overtime loss this season.
