Rams Back at Home for One Match on Thursday

Colorado State will take on Missouri-Kansas City
FORT COLLINS - Coming off its second straight shutout win, Colorado State women's soccer will turn its attention to the Roos of Missouri-Kansas City on Thursday. The matchup will be the second half of a home-and-home series which started in 2022.
The match is set for 4 p.m. at CSU football's practice field. Admission is free. Â Â
The Rams battled the Roos to a scoreless draw on the road in 2022 in the first meeting between the two teams. Colorado State outshot Kansas City 13-6 in that matchup, but both goaltenders stood tall to pitch shutouts in what was the Rams' final non-conference match of 2022.
This year the Rams have scored in each of their three matches including three goals in their home opening win against Louisiana Tech earlier this month. Sophomore forward and Auburn transfer, Olivia Fout, has found the back of the net in each of the Rams' matches, notching the lone goal in Sunday's shutout win over Cal Baptist.Â
"Fout is finding herself in good positions where she can get the ball and execute," head coach Keeley Hagen said, "As a forward, that's what we are looking for and she's taking full advantage of her opportunities."
The Rams have outshot their opponents 46-27 to this point in the season, resulting in outscoring opposing teams 5-1. Colorado State has held opponents to just nine shots per match.
"We're proud of how the team is continuing to progress in their play," Hagan said. "As individuals improve, the team gets better."
Junior goalkeeper Shayna Ross has only seen six shots on goal, stopping five en route to her two shutout performances in 2023. Ross is one of four Rams players to play in all 270 minutes so far this season joining Kaitlin Abrams, Kenady Leighton and Texas transfer Avery Vander Ven.Â
