Colorado State continues conference with Border War and Boise State rematch
FORT COLLINS – The Colorado State volleyball team enters its seventh week of conference play, set to travel to Wyoming Tuesday and Boise State Saturday on a current five-game win streak.

What You Need to Know
- The Rams have maintained their first place spot in the Mountain West, with a current five-game win streak and three-game sweep streak, with sweeps in their most recent matches against Air Force, UNLV, and San Diego State.Â
- Tuesday's game against Wyoming will serve as the second of two Border War games against the Cowgirls this season, the Rams defeated the Cowgirls in round one of conference play 3-1 and will look to take the season sweep in Tuesday's game.Â
- Both Wyoming and Boise State had players recognized by the Mountain West in week five of conference play, Wyoming's Paige Lauterwasser was named Offensive Player of the Week while Boise State's Kiki Remensperger was named both the Defensive and Freshman of the Week.Â
- Wyoming takes on Colorado State after splitting week six of conference, with a loss in three to San Diego State and then coming back and sweeping UNLV.Â
- The Cowgirls have looked to sophomore outside hitter Paige Lauterwasser to lead their offense to success. Lauterwasser has 161 kills in conference play good for sixth in the Mountain West. She has been set up for success by senior setter Kasia Partyka who is currently ranked fourth in the Mountain West with 423 assists and an average of 9.61 per set. The Cowgirls have also been relying on their defense to hold down matches, sophomore Sierra Grizzle and junior middle blocker Sarah Holcomb rank second in the Mountain West for digs and blocks, respectively.
- The Broncos are facing the Rams this week after splitting week six of conference with a loss against Utah State in four sets and then bouncing back and sweeping Nevada Saturday.Â
- Boise State has looked to senior Paige Bartsch all season to lead the Broncos offense, as she currently boasts 178 kills during conference play, good for fourth in the Mountain West. The Broncos have had a lot of assistance from their younger players as well throughout the conference season, with freshman Kiki Remensperger being named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week so far this season, and the Defensive Player of the Week once in week five. The Broncos have depended on all aspects of their roster to contribute to their success as they lead the Mountain West in blocks, accumulating 121 total throughout conference play, with middle blocker Annie Kaminski ranked fifth in the Mountain West in block recording 57 total.Â
Match Notes
- Malaya Jones led the Colorado State offense last week totaling 32 kills for an average of 5.33 kills per set through the Rams' two sweeps. The opposite hitter also added six blocks and a service ace to average over six points per set.
- Emery Herman surpasses her 5,000th career assist with just one assist needed in the Thursday sweep over UNLV. The fifth-year senior brings in three years of stats from Arizona while totaling over 2,000 career assists as a Ram.
- Naeemah Weathers continues to push the Rams offensive efficiency even higher from the middle of the court, totaling 17 kills with a .375 hitting percentage in last weeks games combined. As a team the Rams remain first in hitting percentage in the conference at .310 while Weathers is one of three Mountain West players averaging above .400.
- Maria Brun had another strong week for the Rams as the freshman continues to show the future of CSU volleyball is bright. The outside hitter added 11 kills combined last week at a .320 clip along with three service aces, five digs and five blocks playing as a four rotation player.
