A snowy day in ABQ kept Colorado State cold at New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Colorado State suffered a 62-46 defeat at New Mexico Saturday afternoon, shooting just 20-of-63 for 31.7 percent and 4-of-26 from 3-point range. The Rams have suffered a loss in the last eight game played at The Pit.

In the opening frame, both teams traded baskets as neither led by more than three. New Mexico manufactured a 7-0 run late in the second quarter to record its largest lead of the game at the time at 34-26.

The Rams trimmed the Lobos' lead in the third quarter, trailing by just four with 4:49 left in the frame after a free throw by Hofschild capped an 8-0 run. From there, both teams traded baskets the rest of the quarter.

Trailing by just four with 10 minutes left, Colorado State went cold in the final frame, scoring two points on a jumper by Marta Leimane in the first four minutes. UNM increased its lead down the stretch to 13 with 7:01 and 4:41 left to play. CSU was 2-of-16 in the final frame, scoring just four points and held scoreless the last 6:16.

McKenna Hofschild led the Rams scoring 20 points, while Sanna Strom added eight. CSU forced New Mexico into 18 turnovers and grabbed six steals, but scored just four points on those turnovers.
Colorado State will stay on the road and head to UNLV for a game Wednesday night.
