Giselle Bentley Named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week

Bentley wins first weekly award of her career
FORT COLLINS – Sophomore Giselle Bentley was named the Mountain West Pitcher of the Week after helping the Rams to a 5-0 weekend at the Colorado Classic last weekend the league office announced Monday.

Bentley finished the weekend with a team leading 9.1 innings pitched boasting a weekend ERA of 1.50. Picking up two wins, one for each of her appearances this weekend, Bentley only allowed four hits in 34 Iowa State batters faced. She totaled four strikeouts, 10 flyouts and 14 groundouts on the weekend.

Most notably, Bentley entered Sunday's game versus Iowa State and got the Rams out of a bases-loaded situation without sacrificing a run. The Rams went on to win Sunday's game 9-6.

Bentley and the Rams will return to action this weekend for the Rams Invitational in Fort Collins. Colorado State will kick off its weekend against Maine Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
