FORT COLLINS – After years of bouncing around campus, Colorado State's women's soccer team will mark the grand opening of the CSU Rams Soccer complex on Sunday, part of a two-match week for the team. Construction started on the project in April of 2022.

The Rams went 0-1-1 the opening week, and now turn their attention to a pair of local contests.

Thursday, the team will travel to Greeley to face Northern Colorado at 7 p.m. Sunday's grand opening against Cal Baptist begins at 1 p.m., with plenty of festivities – including inflatables and a face-painting booth -- taking place 90 minutes before kickoff.

CSU vs UNC will be broadcast on ESPN+ while the match against Cal Baptist will be on the Mountain West Network.

Series History

The Rams and Bears have faced each other in 10 matches, with the Rams recording 5-2-3.
CSU and Cal Baptist played once prior, last year, resulting in a 1-0 victory for the Rams.

Quick Kicks

The 2024 roster features Kenady Leighton, who has been a starter in every match throughout her career, a number which stands 67, tied for second all time with Janelle Stone. The program record is 74, set by Hailey Havlicek. Leighton is also tied for sixth in career games played.
Freshman Kaja Dionee made her debut with two starts in the season's opening games, playing in a total 118 minutes, recording three shots and one shot on goal.
Mia Massey scored the first goal of the season for the Rams in the 62nd minute assisted by Ali Yoshida in Sunday's game against Nebraska.
Following Massey, Maggie Altman scored her second career goal – her first in a CSU uniform -- in the 69th minute off a penalty kick at Nebraska, her former program.
The team has five players who have been on the pitch for every minute played – Leighton, Massey, Katy Coffin, Shayna Ross and Avery Vander Ven.
With her assist on Sunday, Ali Yoshida moved into a tie for eighth on the career list with five.

What's Ahead
Colorado State is set to compete in two games in Texas next week starting against Texas State on Thursday, August 29 at 6:30 p.m. With a match against UTSA to follow on Sunday, September 1 at 12 p.m.
