Mountain West Play Opens for Colorado State

Rams take on two Colorado Springs contests
FORT COLLINS - Coming off an appearance in the 2023 season Mountain West Championship game, Colorado State women's soccer will begin its conference schedule Thursday. The Rams will hit the road for two matchups against Colorado opponents, both in Colorado Springs. They will face Air Force (4-2-1 overall) as their first Mountain West match with a game against Colorado College (4-4-1 overall) to follow Sunday. Â
Air Force's matchup will take place on Thursday at 6 p.m.; Sunday's match against Colorado College is set for 3:30 p.m. Both will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
Following last week's match, Colorado State is now 4-3-1 as it heads into conference play. The 1-0 win against the Mavericks helps the Rams enter conference play with a win.Â
Air Force:
- The Falcons ended 6-9-3 overall and 3-5-3 in conference in the 2023 season.Â
- These two programs have met in every season since 2013 with the Rams leading series at 6-2-3.Â
- Two matches went into overtime, with two matches pushed into double overtime.Â
Colorado College:
- The Tigers ended 3-13-2 overall and 3-7-1 in Mountain West play in the 2023 season.Â
- These two programs have met 10 times beginning in 2014 with CC leading the series 5-2-3.Â

- Liv Stutzman was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the week, the first honor of her career.Â
- Shayna Ross had her third shutout of the season following Friday's match.Â
- Kenady Leighton, who has started every match of her career, still stands second in games started with 73, one game behind the program high, and remains fourth in career games played. She remains second in career minutes with 6,396

Colorado State will return home to take on San Jose State on Oct. 3, at 4 p.m. with a match against Fresno State to follow on Oct. 6, at 12:00 p.m.
