Colorado State drops final game of Silicon Valley Classic

SANTA CLARA, Calif.  – The Colorado State softball team fell 8-0 Sunday afternoon in five innings to Santa Clara, the host school for the Silicon Valley Classic.

  • The Rams were unable to capitalize on limited offensive production Sunday in their five-inning loss.
  • Autumn Rutherford continued the hot start to her career as a Ram with a triple in the third inning, the first of her career while the freshman totals a .333 batting average through 10 games.
  • Jordan West and Kyra Smith were the other two Rams to add hits on offense.
  • Carolina Buffaloe and Jailey Wilson led the Rams defensively with three putouts each.

Up Next: Colorado State will continue its spring season next weekend at the Hillenbrand Invitational in Tucson next weekend hosted by Arizona Feb 21-23. The Rams will face off against ranked Texas, Stanford and Arizona.
