Colorado State drops to Longhorns in five innings

TUCSON, Ariz.  – The Colorado State softball team wrapped up its time at the Hillenbrand Invitational Sunday with a 10-2, five-inning loss to No. 1 Texas.
 
No. 1 Texas – 10, Colorado State - 2
  • The Rams fell in a rematch to No. 1 Texas, improving on the first-round matchup with the Longhorns.
  • Autumn Rutherford led the offense for the Rams going 2-3 with a double to lead off the game. She also added an RBI scoring Kaylynn English in the second inning.
  • English and Brooke Bohlender also added hits for Colorado State.
  • Reagan Wick pitched in relief for the Rams, limiting Texas to only five hits with three strikeouts in three innings of work.
  • Defensively, both Jordan West and Morgan Crosby added two assists to cause as the Rams went without an error throughout the game.
